My History In Web and Design

I just had a request for some information on the websites examples to showcase what I can do, or offer.. and I realized that I don't really have anything online that showcases some of the websites or things that I create. I lot of the websites I do, people give to me in small parts, so the site is up before they give content for it. I do not recommend this method. It mostly leaves websites up that I can show, that don't really show what it is supposed to do, or what is supposed to be accessed via the website itself. I'll probably add this page to a "pages" section of this blog so that it is readily accessible the next time someone asks me what I can do!

So, here we go a little bit...

In the realm of the real world I have worked on some of the following websites:
http://www.acthp.ca/
http://www.atlantichuntered.ca/nb/welcome.htm
http://www.conamore.ca/
http://www.seniorsunited.ca/

Some websites not on this list are government websites (I have worked for both the provincial government of New Brunswick and the Department of Natural Resources on internal and external websites), and websites that I have worked on that are no longer available, or unrecognizable from the time that I designed it.

A few of my genealogy websites:

http://agenealogystory.weebly.com/

In the realm of Second Life or virtual worlds I have worked on some of the following websites:
http://www.sldiscovery.com/
http://www.gianoproperties.com/

Blogger websites, customization etc:
http://slunearthed.blogspot.com/
http://nbmomma.blogspot.com/
http://kerosinsl.blogspot.com/
http://kushieestates.blogspot.com/
http://audrasiemens.blogspot.com/
http://autismsl.blogspot.com/

The stuff that takes up a lot of my time lately, is in-game textures for Second Life. This includes a lot of Photoshop processes to make signs, posters, clothing, body shading and realistic textures for hats, shoes, bags, homes or buildings and virtual photography.  Its pretty hard to explain really without seeing it, but a lot of my product stuff can be seen in Audra Siemens Photostream on Flickr - Audra Siemens is my in-world persona on Second Life where I currently do a lot of my Photoshop work.

aaand that's all I can think of at the moment... Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or want to know more!

Just a little update...

I'm happy to say that I'm still here - although on a current leave of absense from my "professional" place of work as my children have been diagonosed with Autism (both of them) within a year of eachother - and my Doctor has, rightfully so, advised me of the time off so that we can adjust, mentally, financially, and physically to the lifestyle of my daughters.

Down but not forgotten though, I'm still working on various web and digital projects. Digitally in Second Life, look for me as Audra Siemens - we offer many things, from real estate, advertising, coordination of events and blog entries that showcase new products and stores belonging to other members of the SL Community.

A nice plus, this month a hunt that we helped to organize ended up on the events Showcase for www.secondlife.com - which allowed us increased traffic and was great advertising. I hope that the rest of the vendors in our area are feeling the effects of that in monetary gain.

Some websites I've been working on:
www.gianoproperties.com
www.sldiscovery.com
http://nbmomma.blogspot.com

I've also been lending my voice to advertisements for miX Radio (available off the Giano Properties website or in world in Newport Keys and various other locations). Its been fun times, and I enjoy the diversity that this brings.

Digital imaging that I've been working on, have mainly been advertisements in-world and avatar clothing. But if you'd like to see something, send me an email, I'd be happy to oblige! I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!

Lots of things going on...

Okay, so I've been busy busy recently. Like most days. What have I been doing? Gosh, the list is so long...

Content creation for www.pollewog.com is underway. We still have a ways to go with this site, but I'm excited to see it blooming into what it was supposed to be.

The day before yesterday I recorded the weekly event listing for the Newport Keys sim. By recording, I mean I recorded the radio spot for it. Then my lovely Scott edited it and put it in the advertising rotation of miX radio (www.gianoproperties.com). I heard it for the first time yesterday and was so very pleased with it!

A new gridwide hunt is starting in Second Life too (well, lots are starting, but one that I'm helping to organize). The Dr Seuss hunt is about to start and the walkthrough was fairly successful. I also made a polka dot skin for it and I just can't stop laughing about it!

Last night, I DJ'd at the virtual club Amaranth. It was a fun filled night with a "Best in Shorts" contest going on. I played a variety of music from The Tragically Hip to Monifa. And I only crashed once! I think its a record.

Tonight I have a gesture request. It has a bad word in it though so I'll have to wait until my kids go to sleep to record it!

I made some textures a while ago for some New England type buildings. I really need to get back to them and make some variations including windows and trim. I'll post some so you can have a peek.

Speaking of textures, I've discovered www.sharecg.com - be cognizant of the licensing agreements, but the textures are great!

Blog purpose...

I've just realized that I don't actually have a professional blog... Not one that showcases what I can do etc etc...

If you're looking for information about me that is not of a professional nature, you can find me on www.facebook.com, www.livejournal.com, twitter and various other social media devices :)

However, this blog will be devoted to things I've done, can do and will do with respect to professional talents.

My all time favorite things to do are play on my computer... by play, I mean work, but work can be play if you do it right.

I also am the avatar Audra Siemens in second life - a shady beginning to be sure, but she's blossomed into a businesswoman with bright prospects and many projects. In the course of this blog, I'm sure you'll see things from the both of us, as she's me after all...

Stay tuned!
